ToneText is a phonetic English system for those who wish to communicate in written sounds, either to avoid the spelling problems that inspired George Bernard Shaw's famous word "ghoti," or who want a short, simple way to write quickly, or who are learning English and want to pronounce confusing English words without needing someone to speak each one.

It is superior to other such systems because of its ease of mastery, smoothness of writing and joining letters, and logical organization.

The entire system is contained in the images to the left, and you are encouraged to try it out. Note how many symbols resemble their letters. A free dictionary with nearly 1500 English words with their ToneText pronunciations is also available, as well as a sheet showing all 45 English phonemes with their IPA pronunciations. Just send in your request.

And to communicate with author in ToneText itself, just send a quick email of any sort in the Contact section and you will be given the direct email address for your ToneText communication. You can then write your message directly on your touch screen in an app such as Notability or other creative program and then send it directly, or you can draw it on paper and send a snapshot of it as an attachment.

Future developments will include a set of fonts, a board for posting notes to others, and a ToneText-to-English dictionary so that words that are only heard can be looked up and written correctly. Your comments and suggestions are always welcome.
